Already this year, I’ve been speaking a lot about “The Workforce”.
It seems everyone in my leadership workshops or at conferences and meetings is wondering what’s happening out there.
It’s an important question, for the forces impacting the overall workforce should be determining your leadership fundamentals: how you recruit, hire, lead and retain your employees.
Why, for example, do we read about the tech companies laying off thousands of workers, when we’re having problems finding anyone to hire? Answer: Most of our clients (less than 300 employees) aren’t big tech companies. And laid-off tech employees are looking for a lot more money and benefits than most businesses can afford).
The days of thinking “they should be lucky just to have a job” are long gone. As should be the thinking, “We’ve always done it this way.” Both are signs your leaders aren’t going to make in this new workforce.
Here’s the white paper we wrote that covers these new worlds, along with suggestions on how you can implement ideas that keep pace with the world ‘out there.’
